Holistic Skin Care For A Beautiful Glowing Skin

Holistic skin care begins on the inside of your body through the nutrients that you consume. The skin is like a mirror of beauty, reflecting your inner health and well being. When it glows, it makes the most average looking person look beautiful.
There is a famous saying that says that the skin of a person depicts the kind of person he is. When we are scared, we get goosepimples and when we are embarrassed or pleased our skin blushes.
These days there are many researches being conducted into holistic skin care. People often wonder what makes our skin glow. Well, the answer is good health; a balanced diet, correct fluid intake, plenty of exercise and the proper amount of rest all of which are part of holistic skin care. Skin that is dull depicts that something is wrong somewhere. Very often, cosmetic companies advertise products which can make dull skin glow. They just look at the surface instead of understanding the root cause of the problem. It is important to know the underlying cause of the problem instead of just “polishing” the skin. Dull skin is a signal that tells you to take care of your health.
Researches indicate that skin changes due to various types of inflammation that occur with age. However, this inflammation does not show itself till middle age when the skin begins to dry and lose some of its elasticity.
Most of us just love spending time in the sun playing water sports, tennis, walking along the beach, developing that perfect tan. The problem is our skin does not love the sun as much as we do! Within just minutes of being in the warm rays of the sun our skin begins to break down as the collagen layer is damaged.
Not only the sun, but also the pollutants in the air and the chemicals we use on and in our body, including artificial sweeteners, tobacco, trans fats and additives all wreak havoc on our skin. These poisons create free radicals which can affect our body both internally as well as externally. So to combat this we must keep our body nourished with antioxidants that help cells to repair themselves.
Imagine for a moment that you are an apple that has been cut in half, think of it sitting in the air with no protection and how it begins to dry and turn brown. This is called oxidization and it is a very good example of what happens to our skin when we don’t keep it supplied with antioxidants such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E, CoQ10, Flavodoids and Alpha-lipoic acid.
If you don’t keep your body nourished with the proper nutrients then your skin will begin to show the signs of neglect.
So if you are really interested in holistic skin care then begin by taking care of the inside and finding the perfect balance that will reflect in beautiful skin on the outside.
